This aluminum tombstone was configured with a standard subplate mounting pattern and hydraulic valving on all four sides. The customer's production volume requirements were low enough to allow only two stations per subplate.
Workpiece is located and clamped with self-centering, pullback expanding mandrels to locate the hub ID.
In this case, orient locators averaged the locations of two cast bosses to ensure bolt hole pattern centering on the casting.
Locators are precision-hardened and ground slides with spring-load feature.
As with all PRZ fixtures, components are plated for corrosion resistance, surface hardness (72 R/C) and long-term reliability.
