Manual Fixture Series This is a series of manually actuated fixtures for machining aluminum bodies in a low-volume, four-operation process. The strength and features of this fixture series lie in the simplicity of the design, and the customer's implementation process.

PRZ fixture designs are dictated by customer needs. This particular customer needed an efficient workholding method to maximize profit in a low-volume project, as illustrated here.


A/B OPERATION (TOP): A combination fixture utilizing a simple but efficient wedge clamp for operation A, and an expanding mandrel for operation B. Qualified for quick but precise pallet mounting and setup.

C OPERATION (BOTTOM LEFT): Indexer-mounted fixture (shown vertically) with expanding mandrel and top clamp allows for cross drilling and precision boring operations on multiple faces.

D OPERATION (BOTTOM RIGHT): Simple vice-like clamping at required angles while locating required datum surfaces - qualified for quick and precise pallet setup.
