Modular Tombstone Fixture Based on customer needs, this manual fixture
accommodates a family of parts. The modular design combines a tombstone with several locating plate styles, which allow the fixture to be configured to suit varying production capacity requirements.

Details of the fixture design include carbide locating points and high-efficiency wedge clamping.

As shown here, the fixture is configured to machine three different parts. The parts held in Stations A and B require window-type workholding, to allow tool access to both sides of the component for finish machining operations. The locator plate on Station A (Left side of fixture) holds a smaller diameter part than the locator plate on Station B (Right side of fixture).

The third locator plate cannot be seen, but the workholding unit is illustrated in the detail photo of Station C (Inset photo).
